Role Summary

Senior Associate Facilities Maintenance at Amgen's newest manufacturing site in North Carolina. You will be part of the Facilities organization within the Facilities & Engineering team, owning facilities and utilities infrastructure during both construction and ongoing operations. Responsibilities include creating and managing maintenance packages, documenting CMMS work plans, developing SOPs, coordinating with project and craft teams, and ensuring compliant, safe maintenance to support site operations.

Responsibilities

  • System Owner responsibilities for facilities and utilities infrastructure systems including Building Shell & Core, Fire Protection & Suppression, Fire Alarm, Domestic Water, Sewer, etc. (During Construction Phase)
  • Support day-to-day logistics and overall coordination within the department and with project team; attendance at whiteboard meetings and communication with the team. (During Construction Phase)
  • End-to-end process for creation of Master Maintenance Packages including Construction inspection walks, Commissioning documentation, Asset Creation / Preventive Maintenance Creation / Job Plan creation and ownership of systems within CMMS. (During Construction Phase)
  • Define spare parts list and assess criticality of spares. (During Construction Phase)
  • Develop and assist in redlining and workflow process for SOPs relevant to Facilities; collaborate to streamline workflows and business practices. (During Construction Phase)
  • Support field walks and activities leading up to and at startup of systems, including inspection walks, punch list generation, and equipment inspection for Mechanical Completion. (During Construction Phase)
Post-Construction Completion and Continued Operations
  • System Owner responsibilities for key facilities and utilities systems including Building Shell & Core, Fire Protection & Suppression, Domestic Water, Sewer, etc. (Post-Construction)
  • Work with technicians and system owners to define scope of work, resource and parts requirements to complete preventive and corrective maintenance tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Write clear, concise, and accurate Job Plan steps within CMMS for corrective and preventive maintenance work orders.
  • Review turnover documentation and identify required spare parts for commissioning and future state operations.
  • Collaborate with integrated facilities management and craft groups to schedule maintenance activities to support site operations.
  • Support maintenance activities to optimize labor utilization and coordinate contractor resources as needed to complete tasks.
  • Own Facilities SOPs; review, update, and administer SOPs for the Facilities Department; assist with procurement and invoicing for the department.
  • Verify GMP-related information for pest control compliance.
  • Act as Delegate for Facilities Sr Manager during periods of absence; manage day-to-day communications and other tasks as requested.

Qualifications

  • Required: High School Diploma / GED and 6 years of Work Order Administration, Mechanical Maintenance, Facilities/Utilities Operations, or Engineering experience
  • Required: Associate’s Degree and 4 years of Work Order Administration, Mechanical Maintenance, Facilities/Utilities Operations, or Engineering experience
  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree and 2 months of Work Order Administration, Mechanical Maintenance, Facilities/Utilities Operations, or Engineering experience
  • Required: Master’s Degree
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with regulated environments (cGMP, OSHA, EPA) and understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Strong customer service, written and verbal communication, and ability to work with minimal direction
  • Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams and embrace a team-based culture
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Smartsheet, and database querying tools
  • Good understanding of CMMS systems (Maximo, SAP, Blue Mountain, etc.)
  • Familiar with Root Cause Analysis and LEAN methodology
  • Excellent facilitation, organizational and planning skills
  • Proactive, self-starter with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Education

  • Highest degree aligned with Basic Qualifications (HS/GED, Associate, Bachelor, or Master’s)
