Purpose
- Responsible for supporting and performing financial analyses and budgetary reconciliations of Oncology clinical trial budgets.
- Monitors study forecasts and manages study expenses and forecasts for Plan, LBE, LRP and Portfolio submissions.
- Interfaces with clinical teams and finance management; supports ad-hoc requests and projects.
Responsibilities
- Own a set (by indication) of clinical study budgets within a Therapeutic Area; prepare, develop and monitor monthly forecasts; report and reconcile for Quarterly reviews.
- Support the clinical trial budget process: trial cost analysis, scenario planning, contract funding approval, and study budget management through the study life-cycle.
- Gather data from multiple sources and provide budget information/metrics to Clinical and Finance Management to support planning decisions.
- Prepare predefined and ad hoc reports; communicate variance discrepancies and support timely issue resolution.
- Assess and investigate study spend vs. forecast.
- Update established forecasts on a regular cadence (monthly LBEs, Quarterly R/OSS reviews, 50%/100% enrollment timepoints, annual cost validation) and provide study status (startup, Main R/OSS, reconciliation and close-out).
- Interact with management and cross-functional partners.
- Support finance management on ad-hoc requests and projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in Finance or Health sciences (required).
- Minimum 4+ years of progressive and related experience.
- Strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills; strong attention to detail.
- Ability to derive insights from data and summarize.
- Learns fast and can change course quickly where indicated.
- Self-starter who can operate independently, drive processes, implement process improvements, and adjust priorities.
- Builds strong cross-functional relationships.
- Excellent time management.
- Proficient Excel skills (required); SAP and PowerBI knowledge (plus).
