The Senior Alignment & Field Planning Manager will provide strategic leadership for the design, optimization, and execution of field territory alignments and targeting across CMCS (including CMCS_VIR), Rare Disease, and Market Access teams. Leads analytical and operational processes translating business strategy, customer opportunity, field capacity, and market dynamics into effective field structures and deployment decisions. Serves as a strategic partner to Field and Market Access Leadership with data-driven recommendations; champions advanced analytics, AI, automation, and emerging technologies to enhance field planning capabilities and enable continuous optimization. Provides leadership across cross-functional teams, influences senior stakeholders, manages external partners, and establishes best practices and governance for alignment/targeting processes.
Responsibilities:
- Own territory alignments; answer queries and perform ad hoc analysis for CMCS Rare Disease and Market Access.
- Advise leadership on territory design, field deployment, and structural changes; collaborate with Field leadership per cycle.
- Manage Alignment Manager system setup and maintain accurate/relevant data.
- Manage territory alignment process each cycle; obtain sales management approval.
- Train CMCS field users each cycle on Alignment Manager; enable alignment submissions in JAMS.
- Improve operational efficiency of alignment processes.
- Support localization sessions for sales force structure initiatives.
- Collaborate with IT/Reporting Systems/HRIS for timely territory/people alignment output.
- Lead end-to-end Alignment and targeting cycle for Market Access; train MA team each cycle on Targeting tool.
- Manage external vendors supporting alignment/targeting/analytics/technology platforms.
- Partner with Data & Analytics and IT on AI-enabled field planning.
- System owner for Roster Manager; ensure cycle changes reflected.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree and/or PharmD required. 8+ years sales planning/business analysis in pharma (or related field); consulting experience may substitute.
- 2+ years call planning design implementation (preferred) or sales experience (preferred).
- Strong communication of complex business analysis; multitasking; Excel/PowerPoint/Word; data analysis.
- Preferred: experience with alignment software (e.g., Javelin Territory Designer, AlignStar, TerrAlign, PharmaAlign, Veeva align).
- Mathematical/statistical skills; time and priority management.
