Role Summary

Senior Accountant, Revenue and Receivables – The Revenue and Receivables Accountant will support the revenue, billing and collection functions for the finance organization within accounts receivable and revenue accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day, monthly, and quarterly administration tasks such as customer aging reports, collection communications, and account reviews with third-party logistics provider.
  • Support and collaborate with banking/cash accounting team to reconcile customer payments.
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of order-to-cash activity in the ERP system, NetSuite, including invoicing and any related adjustments, such as credit memos.
  • Manage product revenue AR to ensure timely collection of customer invoices and prompt dispute resolution. Acts as the primary point of escalation to include working with internal departments and customers to drive problem resolution.
  • Customer maintenance activities including new customer set-up and credit limits.
  • Liaison with our third-party logistics provider for transactions, including but not limited to, accounts receivable, sales, returns, and chargebacks.
  • Ensure a timely & accurate accounting close process as it relates to order to cash responsibility, particularly connected to accounts receivable, product revenue, gross-to-net revenue.
  • Prepare month-end close journal entries and reconciliations for sales revenue, accounts receivable, gross-to-net payments, and royalty revenue.
  • Maintain and reconcile data files used to support month end close activities and dashboard presentations.
  • Execute SOX controls timely and provides support for all internal and external audits.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of US GAAP and solid accounting skills.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in financial analysis, reporting and interpretation of data.
  • Additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years’ experience, biotech/pharma companies experience preferred.
  • BA or BS degree in finance/accounting.
  • Ability to use advanced Excel spreadsheet functions and formulas.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel working with pivot tables, v-lookups, and other functions.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and SEC rules.
  • Knowledge of SOX requirements.

Preferred Skills

  • Sit for an extended time in front of a computer.
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred.

Education

  • BA/BS in finance or accounting.
