ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations, with primary ownership over clinical trial related accruals, including investigator fees, CROs, consultants, and pass-through costs.
- Partner with Clinical Operations and contract owners to evaluate services rendered and ensure accurate month‑end and quarter‑end cutoff.
- Assess completeness of contracts considered within accounting on a quarterly basis via confirmations from contract owners.
- Assist with purchase order creation, tracking, and monitoring to ensure alignment with approved budgets and contractual terms
- Prepare detailed schedules and supporting documentation for quarterly and annual financial reviews and audits.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation, particularly related to clinical accruals, investigator tracking, and reporting.
- Complete special projects as required and assigned.
- Maintain the integrity of financial systems.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with US GAAP, SOX, and company policies and procedures.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field with 5 years of general accounting experience. Equivalent combination of relevant education and applicable job experience may be considered.
- Biotech industry experience strongly preferred. Experience with clinical accruals required.
- Must be familiar with SOX compliance.
- Experience with NetSuite preferred.
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to perform functions with high level of accuracy with minimum supervision.
