The Senior Account Executive serves as the primary liaison between the AbbVie Ad Agency and the brand teams, managing day-to-day agency relationships and providing strategic direction and counsel to help brand teams meet business objectives/sales goals.
Hybrid; commute to the Mettawa, IL office at least 3 days per week.
Knowledge/Skills
- Maintain knowledge of AbbVie guidelines, including corporate branding, promotional material development, PromoMats review, and corporate compliance.
- Understand account product attributes, marketing objectives, target audience, competitive environment, market dynamics, and medical/regulatory/legal position (U.S. and Global).
- Understand the Agency Workflow Process (initiation/kickoff, collaboration, approvals, production, archiving).
- Critical creative thinking and problem solving; clear written and verbal communication.
- Prioritize and multitask; lead conflict resolution; work in a high-volume, rapidly paced environment.
Project/Process Management
- Collaborate on project briefs; recommend promotional tactics aligned with brand strategy/goals.
- Issue client contact reports; review creative from concept through completion (specs, expectations, budget, timelines).
- Facilitate timely, accurate communications to complete projects on time and within budget.
- Develop annual forecasts; conduct monthly financial reconciliations; track time daily.
Accountability/Scope
- Reports to AbbVie Ad Agency Associate Director, Management Supervisor.
- Partners with creative team on project initiatives.
- Accountable for tactical execution, compliance to guidelines and budget; adherence to company-wide financial policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree required.
- Masterβs degree or equivalent related project/functional experience desirable.
- 4β6 years account management experience preferred (advertising agency setting); launch experience a plus.
- Pharmaceutical ad agency or in-house agency experience preferred; pharmaceutical industry experience preferred (U.S., Global).
- Excellent communications; high energy/positive/organized; comfort in high-visibility role.
- Ability to manage high-volume project scope in a fast-paced creative environment; strong collaborator with attention to big picture and details.
