Role Summary

Senior 401k and Retirement Plans Administrator. Highly skilled retirement professional focusing on 401(k) savings and retirement plan management, ensuring efficient administration, compliance, and optimization of the 401(k) program. Responsibilities

  • Subject matter expert for US/PR qualified and non-qualified savings and retirement plans—operations and regulatory environment.
  • Manage the operations and administration of the BMS US/PR Savings and Retirement Plans, including contributions, distributions, loans, withdrawals, vesting, payroll deductions, filings, and coordination with finance, tax, legal, auditors, and vendors.
  • Ensure robust controls, SOX compliance, audits, and regulatory adherence for plan documents and related operations.
  • Participate in audits and regulatory reporting, including non-discrimination testing and blackout restrictions.
  • Liaise with third-party vendors, payroll, and other teams to resolve operational and systems issues.
  • Document and deploy processes for savings and retirement plan operations with process improvement and customer experience focus.
  • Design, develop, test, and implement websites, enrollment tools, and related content and communications.
  • Develop functional requirements for savings and retirement plan integrations between HR, payroll, and benefits systems; ensure data file accuracy.
  • Operationalize BEP/savings elections and annual contribution files.
  • Act as escalation point for Tier 2 queries, plan interpretation, and appeals.
  • Maintain documentation of internal processes and update knowledge articles to resolve common questions.
  • Support change communication and deliver ongoing learning for extended People Services teams.
  • Collaborate with Benefit Operations to standardize changes, reports, and interfaces to improve efficiency and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Required: 5+ years in retirement plan administration (focus on 401(k)) within a matrixed, shared-service environment; strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS, DOL, and related compliance; experience with third-party administrators and recordkeepers.
  • Preferred: 5–7+ years in HR service delivery; experience with Workday, ServiceNow, ADP, and vendor management; CEBS or equivalent designation; advanced MS Excel; BS/BA in business or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of SOX controls as they relate to US 401(k) plans; experience with system integrations and reporting; ability to influence stakeholders; strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills.

Education

  • BS, BA or graduate degree in business or equivalent experience.
