Seattle Research Site Head (Immunology)

Role: Senior Scientific Leader and Site Head for Vertex's Seattle Research Site, specializing in immunology research with a focus on biologics and autoimmune therapies. Responsibilities: lead and expand the immunology research team, oversee translational and discovery projects (including Povetacicept and immune-mediated inflammatory diseases), shape and execute research strategy, manage site operations and resources, foster external collaborations, and contribute to research governance and organizational development. Requirements: PhD or MD in immunology or related field; 15+ years in life sciences or academia with 7+ years of management experience; proven leadership in biotech/pharma or academic research, with a strong background in drug discovery, human biology, and immunology. High-Value: biologics, immunology, autoimmune diseases, early to mid-stage research (discovery to translational), experience with high-impact pipeline projects, collaborative research environment, and global strategy influence. Work Setup: On-site at Seattle, five days/week with ad hoc flexibility.
