Role: Expert in downstream/Cell Culture for gene therapy development, focusing on AAV and LVV upstream process development, optimization, scale-up, and GMP manufacturing support. Responsibilities: lead and support experiments and process characterization, design DOE and QbD studies, execute process troubleshooting, and contribute to technology transfer and documentation for regulatory filings. Stay current with biotech innovations, apply scientific advancements to process strategies, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements: Bachelor's in biochemistry, chemical engineering, bioengineering, or related with 4-6 years relevant experience; or Master's with 2-4 years; or PhD with up to 2 years. Hands-on experience with virus or biologics production in mammalian systems, bioreactor operations, and scale-down models essential. Knowledge of viral cell/gene therapy, especially AAV and LVV, preferred. Proficient in statistical analysis, Design of Experiments, and documentation practices. High-value: gene therapy, AAV & LVV, upstream process development, GMP manufacturing, process characterization, bioprocess optimization. Work setup: onsite Durham, NC, 5 days/week; no visa sponsorship or relocation support.
