Role Summary
Scientist / Senior Scientist β Preclinical β Diabetes Boston DOCTA is part of an in-vivo team focused on developing cell therapy approaches to treating diabetes. Based in Boston, the preclinical team performs in-vivo proof of concept and efficacy studies in collaboration with a multidisciplinary research team. We are seeking a highly motivated, early career scientist to join our collaborative and enthusiastic preclinical team.
Responsibilities
- Execute rodent studies as part of a collaborative in-vivo team.
- Perform in-vivo activities including monitoring, dosing, surgery, surgical support, sample collection, and ex vivo analyses.
- Make observations, evaluate data, interpret results, and document in a well-maintained laboratory notebook.
- Demonstrate understanding and application of relevant scientific literature.
- Participate in the coordination of assigned research with other teams as necessary to ensure the completion of the teamβs research projects.
- Comply with standard laboratory practices and company policies.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelorβs degree in biological sciences, molecular biology, animal sciences, neuroscience, or similar discipline.
- Required: 1+ year experience in performing in-vivo rodent studies.
- Preferred: Outstanding interpersonal skills and established collaborative work habits.
- Preferred: Ability to work independently as well as within a flexible team-oriented environment.
- Preferred: Demonstrated oral and written communication skills and time management.
- Preferred: Prior experience with rodent surgery, blood collection, and tissue harvesting.
