Role: R&D Scientist specializing in Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Histology within Oncology Product Development, focusing on developing, optimizing, verifying, and validating tissue-based workflows for oncology assays. Responsibilities: design and execute studies for IHC and tissue workflows, optimize assay parameters including antibody selection, antigen retrieval, and staining conditions, troubleshoot automated staining platforms (notably Roche BenchMark ULTRA), evaluate pre-analytical tissue variables, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to transfer methods into clinical laboratory workflows. Develop documentation such as protocols, validation reports, SOPs, and provide technical guidance. Requirements: Ph.D. in Pathology, Cancer Biology, or related field with ≥2 years industry experience, or Master's with ≥5 years, or Bachelor's with 6–8+ years relevant experience. Essential skills include hands-on expertise in IHC assay development, histology, FFPE tissue workflows, and experience with automated platforms. Preferred: experience with NGS, molecular biology workflows, digital pathology, and in regulated clinical or molecular diagnostics environments. High-Value: Oncology focus, tissue-based assays, regulated lab setting, and automation platforms. Work setup: Remote USA, with a salary range of $125,000–$140,000.
