Role Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join the Protein Development group, within Therapeutic Proteins. You will purify and characterize protein research reagents that enable and support our therapeutic protein discovery campaigns, platform development efforts as well as contribute to the functional understanding of these targets.

Responsibilities

  • Purifying proteins by liquid chromatography-based techniques (e.g. affinity, ion exchange, hydrophobic interaction, size exclusion, etc.) using standard purification systems and automated equipment
  • Analyzing purification data and executing/analyzing biochemical/biophysical characterization (e.g. spectrophotometry, SDS-PAGE, western blot, light-scattering based methods, DSF) of our samples
  • Independently makes detailed observations, analyzes data, interprets results and reports findings to supervisor, department or project team
  • Preparing documentation for ELN and sample information for laboratory information management systems
  • Fostering the development of junior colleagues

Qualifications

  • To be considered for the role you must have at least a BS/MS in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field with 6+ years of relevant experience in protein purification/characterization. Must have experience with purifying different types of proteins and liquid chromatography techniques and instruments (experience with AKTA systems is preferred). Developed skills in using spectrophotometers, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot are required. Prior industry experience is preferred but not necessary.
