What You'll Do:
- Develop analytical methods and purification protocols for extended characterization of therapeutic proteins and gene therapy vectors.
- Conduct biochemical/biophysical characterization to support development, regulatory submissions, and commercialization.
- Apply DOE, advanced statistics, and risk assessments to evaluate and optimize methods and processes.
- Design and execute experiments to enrich, purify, and characterize size/charge variants, complexes, and high-concentration formulations.
- Independently operate U/HPLCs and AKTA FPLCs, and perform capillary-based electrophoresis.
- Integrate internal data and external literature to recommend science-based study designs.
- Author technical documents (protocols, reports, memos), contribute to regulatory sections and publications, and ensure timely documentation per SOPs/guidelines.
- Document results in the electronic laboratory notebook and present at group/department meetings.
- Maintain instruments, troubleshoot issues, order/maintain supplies, and improve lab/data workflows.
Must-haves (Qualifications/Skills):
- BS/MS in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Engineering, or related field, with 8β10+ years relevant industry experience.
- Strong protein separation/purification and TFF skills; protein/product identification using mass spectrometry.
- Excellent oral/written communication; demonstrated teamwork.
- Strong initiative, continuous learning, and ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders.
Preferred (Nice-to-haves):
- Automated FPLC/HPLC (SEC, IEX, affinity); electrophoresis (capillary/microchip, SDS-PAGE, western blots); spectroscopy; light scattering.
- Knowledge of protein structure/function, mass spectrometry, immunology/immunogenicity.
- Biopharmaceutical industry experience.
