Responsibilities:
- Design made-to-order RNAscope probes for target sequences using proprietary software.
- Answer technical inquiries related to design of target probes and submission of New Probe Requests (NPR).
- Review NPR forms for accurate and efficient probe designs.
- Use Linux command-line tools for sequence alignments (BLAST/BLAT), probe selection, and specificity.
- Provide probe product training and troubleshooting via phone and email.
- Serve as primary contact for customers on technical issues; provide scientific consultation for research-use-only inquiries.
- Collaborate with Commercial and Marketing teams to meet customer needs.
- Ensure customer service excellence by monitoring SalesForce queue, inbox, phone calls, and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Contribute to new product development and introduction with R&D teams in a laboratory environment.
- Contribute to the Probe Design team knowledgebase development.
- Present scientific and product updates to customers and internal teams.
Qualifications:
- PhD with 4+ years of research experience in molecular biology, bioinformatics/computational biology, or closely related field.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of genes and sequences; RNA biology.
- Bioinformatics tool familiarity (Python, R, or equivalent) and programming language (C/C++, Java).
- Experience with biological databases and bioinformatics software tools.
- Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
- Post-graduate experimental design and cell/molecular techniques.
- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and teaching skills.
Experience:
- 2+ years in Biotech/Biopharma R&D.
- 2+ years with Linux and Python/Perl or other programming languages.
- 2+ years with next-generation sequencing platforms/tools.
- Prior probe design experience across multiple species.
- Experience with sequence analysis (database searches, multiple sequence alignment).
- Customer-facing experience.
