Position Summary
- Scientist, Pharmacology and Toxicology (individual contributor) supporting biotech drug discovery and development in a team environment.
- Includes study design and monitoring, relationships with toxicology CROs and university activities, data review/interpretation/presentations, and exploratory and GLP studies to support regulatory filings.
- Liaises with discovery and development colleagues on toxicology/pharmacology strategies; contributes by presenting strategies to the asset development team as needed.
- Works with external partners (CROs) to conduct required studies and monitor progress.

Key Responsibilities
- Support preclinical toxicology programs for small and large molecules (discovery and development).
- Propose and support preclinical toxicology strategy development.
- Interface with internal discovery and development stakeholders.
- Interface with regulatory affairs on FDA and other regulatory documents.
- Partner with clinical group to develop nonclinical timelines and risk-benefit approaches for FIH trial candidates.
- Establish collaborations with CROs and/or academic institutions.
- Provide tactical support across multiple project teams from target discovery through lead optimization to clinical development.
- Support writing toxicology/pharmacology sections of regulatory documents (IND, IB, BLA).

Education & Qualifications
- B.S., M.S., or PhD in Toxicology, Pharmacology, or related sciences.
- Minimum 5 years related experience in biopharma or a CRO.
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills; ability to influence.
- Study directing/monitoring experience in CRO environment.
- Scientific excellence in toxicology/pharmacology principles.
- Knowledge of U.S. and international safety guidelines for pharmaceutical development.
- Strategic thinking, clear direction/expectations; strong prioritization.
- Self-motivated, independent, results-oriented; effective in a matrix environment.

Travel/Work Location
- On-site 3 days per week; periodic business travel as needed.
