Primary Responsibilities
- Execute work in a laboratory or pilot plant to develop solid oral drug products using scientific principles.
- Lead manufacturing operations in non-GMP and GMP environments.
- Perform routine experiments and interpret data independently.
- Operate and troubleshoot equipment and processes.
- Apply lab/pilot plant skills and scientific principles; contribute to project team strategy.
- Manage prioritization of deliverables with minimal supervision.
- Collaborate effectively in team environments.
- Build awareness of new/current technologies to grow as a pharmaceutical scientist.
Education (Minimum Requirements)
- B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related discipline; 3+ years relevant industrial experience.
Required Experience & Skills
- Prior industry experience in pharma or related field.
- Ability to learn and apply new scientific principles independently.
- Independent basic data analysis.
- Experience with Microsoft Office; JMP/Minitab; MATLAB (numerical analysis).
- Strong verbal and written communication.
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Experience with advanced simulation/modeling (e.g., gSOLIDS, Solidworks, ANSYS Polyflow).
- Experience with advanced drug product manufacturing technologies.
- Hands-on optimization and evaluation of new technologies.
- Apply physical/organic chemistry, physical pharmacy, and materials science to development problems.
- Hands-on pharmaceutical pilot plant experience.
