Position Summary:
Scientist for GSK Vaccines Group, Preclinical Molecular Biology team (Cambridge, MA). Focus on protein-polysaccharide based vaccine programs.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing fusion protein expression constructs, cloning, and testing for expression
- Execute assays to evaluate the function of the protein component of protein-polysaccharide vaccine candidates in preclinical studies
- Collaborate with vaccine discovery and development teams to execute experiments supporting candidate selection and optimization
- Analyze and interpret data, and present results to internal stakeholders
- Maintain scientific rigor and integrity in experimental design, data analysis, and documentation
- Stay current on advances in vaccine development and immunology

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in molecular biology (or related) with at least 4 years laboratory experience, or PhD with at least 1 year experience (industry experience a plus)
- Experience with cloning and sequencing
- Experience with immunoassays: BLI, ELISA, immunoblots, and SPR
- Experience with high-throughput protein expression evaluation/purification (liquid handlers, Coomassie gels, protein concentration assays, DSF)
- Experience with automation instruments (Hamilton, Tecan, or Bravo)

Preferred Qualifications:
- Whole genome analysis
- Interest in vaccines, especially protein-polysaccharide vaccines or related technologies
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative matrix team environment

Benefits/Compensation (if located in Cambridge, MA; Waltham, MA; Rockville, MD; or San Francisco, CA):
- Annual base salary range: $89,925–$149,875; annual bonus; eligible for share-based long-term incentive; health care and other insurance benefits, retirement, paid holidays, vacation, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave
