Role Summary
Scientist I, Analytical Development (Biologics) role within AbbVie Biologics ARD focusing on early development through proof-of-concept, method development/optimization/validation, and non-GxP/GxP testing of clinical supplies to support analytical deliverables and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate mastery of a broad range of experimental techniques and data analysis.
- Design and execute method development and participate in method transfer activities.
- Act as a key technical contact for external parties and lead troubleshooting of equipment and experimental problems.
- Provide laboratory support for internal formulation and process development studies.
- Organize and present scientific plans and data effectively.
- Author technical documents (methods, protocols, reports), scientific publications, presentations, and regulatory documents.
- Brainstorm ideas for continuous improvement and lead/participate in initiatives.
- Ensure safety and GxP requirements are met when performing tasks.
- Ensure timely and GxP compliant delivery of high-quality data.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (5+ years) or Master’s Degree (2+ years) in a scientific discipline with previous laboratory experience.
- Practical experience and knowledge of protein HPLC (SEC, IEX, HIC), capillary electrophoresis, and other separation techniques for protein analysis.
- Solid understanding of protein chemistry and biochemistry related to biologics drug development.
- Demonstrated independent problem-solving ability and technical proficiency.
- Ability to learn, understand, and master new experimental techniques.
- Ability to multitask and work within timelines.
- Strong scientific writing skills and excellent verbal communication.
