Position Summary:
Scientist in In Vivo Pharmacology (Oncology & Immunology discovery). Design, execute, analyze, and interpret preclinical in vivo studies to evaluate novel therapeutic candidates. Independently drive experimental strategies and collaborate with multidisciplinary discovery teams to advance programs from target validation through candidate selection.
Position Responsibilities:
- Design and interpret in vivo studies in murine models of cancer and immune-mediated diseases.
- Perform and oversee in vivo studies: compound administration, disease induction, tumor implantation, immune cell transfers, longitudinal sampling, and animal monitoring.
- Develop experimental strategies to evaluate pharmacodynamics, efficacy, mechanism-of-action, and combination therapy hypotheses.
- Independently operate imaging technologies (including IVIS) to support efficacy and mechanistic studies.
- Troubleshoot technical/scientific challenges; optimize and develop novel in vivo models and experimental workflows.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze/interpret complex datasets (GraphPad Prism, Excel, other tools).
- Integrate in vivo, pharmacodynamic, biomarker, and mechanistic data for scientific insights.
- Maintain ELN documentation; prepare/present results, reports, and project updates; contribute to publications and regulatory documentation as appropriate.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Serve as in vivo pharmacology representative on Oncology/Immunology project teams.
- Partner with external collaborators and CROs for study execution and data interpretation.
Laboratory Operations & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with BMS policies, IACUC regulations, and animal welfare standards.
- Maintain lab supplies/equipment/materials; participate in continuous improvement of models/workflows.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s + 5+ years academic/industry experience OR Master’s + 3+ years OR Ph.D. (no experience required) in Life Sciences.
Preferred Qualifications (selected):
- PhD/MS/BS experience in in vivo pharmacology; strong preclinical in vivo expertise.
- Experience designing/executing/interpreting oncology and/or immunology disease model studies.
- Hands-on rodent handling/dosing/sample collection; tumor/immune-mediated model experience.
- IVIS imaging proficiency; strong experimental design/statistics/data interpretation.
- Strong communication; manage multiple priorities in fast-paced collaborative environment.
Compensation/Benefits (if applicable):
- Cambridge, MA: US $128,380–$155,571; additional incentive cash/stock may be available.
