Key Responsibilities:
- Establish key assays and model systems for mechanistic investigation of potential targets and evaluation of therapeutic candidates.
- Perform in vivo dosing, bleeding, and handling of small laboratory animals.
- Conduct molecular biology, cellular biology, cell-based assays, and ex vivo sample processing/analysis.
- Design, perform, troubleshoot, document, analyze, and interpret assigned research with minimal supervision.
- Critically evaluate current literature to identify opportunities for new and existing programs.
- Work independently on tightly controlled experiments; analyze data and present findings to disease-area teams.
- Solve complex problems using innovative approaches and state-of-the-art technologies.
- Note: Required to work weekends on a shifted work-week schedule (Tuesday–Saturday / Sunday–Thursday).

Qualifications:
- Education: BS (with 3+ years) or MS in chemical biology, molecular/cellular biology, pharmacology, biology, or related field.
- Required experience/skills: target validation; in vivo model development or adipose biology; small animal handling/dosing (oral, subcutaneous, intraperitoneal, intravenous) and bleeding; work with human and pre-clinical tissues and primary cell lines; standard molecular biology techniques (e.g., western blotting, qPCR); independent work, strong organization/time management; strong communication/interpersonal skills; scientific curiosity and analytical mindset.
- Preferred: prior industry experience; target identification with muscle biology or immunology in metabolic disease context.
