Job Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize biochemical and cell-based assays to quantify drug-target interactions in purified proteins and live/fixed cells for target validation, compound screening, and mechanism of action studies.
- Use equilibrium/kinetic binding models to determine parameters (Kd, Ki, kon, koff, residence time, stoichiometry) from radiometric/fluorescence platforms.
- Run experiments to separate specific vs. non-specific binding; control receptor expression, probe depletion, and rebinding.
- Analyze cellular target engagement with structure-function, conformational dynamics, and MoA context.
- Ensure assay robustness/reproducibility (e.g., Zā factor, CV, signal window).
- Lead projects supporting the biology screening/evaluation plan; partner with chemists, DMPK, imaging, and in vivo teams.
- Document protocols/results and safely work with radioactive isotopes per lab/regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills (Required/Preferred)
- Ph.D. in Cancer Biology, Cellular & Molecular Biology, or related field.
- Strong hands-on assay development/optimization (biochemical + cell-based).
- Proficiency with cell culture/molecular biology and methods such as ELISA, plate-based pathway assays, flow cytometry, western blot, TR-FRET/HTRF, fluorescence competitive binding, and/or high-content imaging.
- Strong communication, attention to detail, problem-solving; ability to work in interdisciplinary teams.
- Preferred: industrial/academic drug discovery experience; publications.
- Preferred: experience handling radioactive materials; high-throughput/automated binding assays; biophysics (SPR/BLI/ITC/MST); live-cell engagement (NanoBRET, CETSA); receptor trafficking/internalization/membrane biology; hit-to-lead programs.
- Ability to work with radioisotopes with strict radiation safety.
Benefits (as stated)
- Health coverage (medical/pharmacy/dental/vision), wellbeing programs, and financial protection (e.g., 401(k), disability, life/accident, supplemental insurance).
- Paid Time Off: flexible time off (unlimited with manager approval) for US exempt; or 160 hours annual paid vacation plus national holidays (and optional holidays) for certain other employee groups.
Physical requirements
- Laboratory environment with protective clothing, gloves, and safety glasses; occasional lifting/moving up to 30 lbs; moderate noise.
