Role: The Scientist, Immunology & Non-viral Engineering, supports MaxCyte’s R&D by developing non-viral gene editing workflows for immune cells, contributing to platform innovation and customer collaborations. Responsibilities: design and execute gene editing in primary immune cells (T, NK, macrophages) using CRISPR/Cas systems; assess editing efficiency, cell function, and phenotyping via flow cytometry, NGS, and molecular assays; optimize workflows with MaxCyte’s electroporation technology; troubleshoot experiments; analyze data; collaborate with project teams; support customer troubleshooting; evaluate new technologies; contribute to innovation initiatives; maintain compliant records. Requirements: PhD in Immunology, Molecular or Cell Biology with 2-3+ years or Master’s with 5+ years hands-on experience in non-viral gene editing, including CRISPR RNPs, mRNA, or DNA delivery; expertise in immune cell biology, activation, and phenotyping; proficiency in flow cytometry and high-throughput tools; experience with electroporation-based delivery; familiarity with cell therapy platforms (e.g., CAR-T, TCR, NK); knowledge of emerging modalities like base or prime editing.
