Responsibilities:
- Design and execute workflows to conceive, build, and assess in primary cells.
- Apply advanced cloning methods; handle diverse primary cell types (including T cells); support delivery approaches from transfection to viral transduction to targeted LNP (tLNP).
- Collaborate across CRISPR Tx groups and external vendors to advance editing and delivery toward clinical readiness.
- Use quantitative biology to iterate on editing efficiency/gene insertion, impacts on cell phenotype/construct expression, and new strategy ideation.
- Design and execute ddPCR assays to quantify transgene integration efficiency.
- Design and execute T cell phenotyping assays (e.g., multicolor flow cytometry panels).
- Leverage immunology and/or synthetic immunology to drive innovative editing, delivery, and expression strategies.
- Cross-functionally assess editing outcomes in animal models.
- Analyze and present experimental data to broad audiences.
- Generate, manage, evaluate, and maintain critical data with statistical analysis and troubleshooting.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Extensive prior experience with gene editing and synthetic immunology (academic and/or industry) with a track record of significant contributions.
- Degree in Biology, Immunology, Genetics, Bioengineering, or related field (PhD: 2β5+ years; non-PhD: 10β12+ years relevant experience).
- Strong technical skills: cloning, flow cytometry, primary T cell culturing, editing assays, and T cell phenotype/function assessment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and support other projects.
- Strong communication and collaborative teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with in vivo delivery modalities (tLNP, AAV, VLP, etc.).
- Experience developing novel editing modalities.
Scientist II Compensation:
- Base pay range $130,000β$140,000+ plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
