Scientist II, Biologics Drug Product Development

Role: Support formulation, process development, and testing of protein biologic drugs within AbbVie's Biologics CMC Development team, with a focus on automation and high-throughput workflows. Responsibilities: develop and execute formulation and process studies for new and marketed biologics, generate high-quality data, prepare scientific and regulatory documentation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams including CMC and manufacturing. Drive innovation through novel approaches and advanced automation to enhance laboratory efficiency, data quality, and reproducibility. Requirements: BS with 7+ years or MS with 5+ years in protein formulation, drug development, or related fields; strong expertise in protein characterization, stability testing, and formulation principles; experience with automation, high-throughput screening, and analytical techniques (e.g., chromatography, spectroscopy, scattering). Preferred: hands-on experience with potent compounds in BSL-2 labs, aseptic processing, tech transfer, lyophilization, and advanced data workflows. High-Value: biologics, therapeutic and aesthetic applications, formulation, and process development, analytical characterization, automation, and high-throughput methodologies.
