Role: Conduct preclinical cardiovascular research as a Scientist I/II at Cytokinetics, focusing on muscle biology and cardiac disease models. Responsibilities: perform in vivo rodent work (dosing, tissue collection), isolate primary cells, execute molecular and biochemical assays (Western blot, qPCR, immunostaining, ELISA), and culture/run functional experiments on iPSC-derived and primary cardiomyocytes, as well as engineered heart tissues. Qualifications: Ph.D. in Biology, Physiology, Pharmacology, or related field; 0–5 years of experience depending on level; hands-on expertise in rodent handling, tissue collection, cell isolation, molecular assays, and cell culture. Preferred: experience in cardiovascular in vivo measures (e.g., echocardiography, hemodynamics) and advanced cell culture techniques involving iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes and engineered tissues. HighValue: cardiovascular disease, muscle biology, preclinical models, in vivo and ex vivo techniques, molecular assay development. Reporting: collaborative multidisciplinary environment. Work setup: not specified, but involves laboratory and animal work with emphasis on independence and scientific contribution.
