Role Summary
Scientist I, Purification based in Redmond, WA. Reports to the Sr. Scientist II, Purification. You will contribute to purification process development for biotherapeutics, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and transfer processes to clinical and commercial manufacturing. You’ll develop technologies to reduce cost and improve efficiency, and regularly share findings and results.
Responsibilities
- Dive deep into purification process development for biotherapeutics manufacturing, always looking for ways to improve and innovate.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to explore new possibilities and solutions.
- Transfer processes to clinical and commercial manufacturing facilities.
- Technology development to reduce the cost and improve the efficiency of purification processes.
- Regularly share your findings, ideas, and solutions in both team settings and presentations.
- Ensure that curiosity-driven questions and exploration lead to measurable, impactful results.
Qualifications
- Required: BS or MS degree in Engineering, Biochemistry, or related field and 5+ years of experience or Ph.D.
- Required: Knowledgeable in chromatography and filtration theory, downstream development strategy, and process scale-up/transfer
- Required: Experience with chromatography operations, including operating AKTA systems
- Required: Experience with filtration operation, including executing bench-scale dead-end filtration, viral filtration, UF/DF, and depth filtration
- Required/Preferred: Excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing, able to share complex ideas in a simple, relatable way.
- Preferred: Experience with design of experiments (DOE) and analysis using statistical software packages (JMP, MATLAB, etc.)
- Preferred: Experience with multi column chromatography
- Preferred: Experience with continuous and connected processing
- Preferred: Experience with process modelling
