Role Summary

Scientist I, Process Chemistry, ADC — specializes in antibody drug conjugate (ADC) chemistry within AbbVie's Process Chemistry department of Synthetic Molecules CMC R&D. The team provides the synthetic chemistry technology required to prepare active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) for use in preclinical and early clinical studies. Experience with both ADC chemistry and small molecule synthetic organic chemistry is required.

Responsibilities

• Independently design and conduct critical experiments and generate reliable and consistent results that further project goals.
• Consistently apply the appropriate process analytical technologies (PAT) to efficiently produce high-quality data.
• Interpret results, draw conclusions, and propose or pursue relevant follow-up experiments.
• Understand relevant scientific literature and apply theoretical framework to solving problems in a timely manner.
• Understand and adhere to corporate standards for code of conduct, safety, material handling, and GxP compliance.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience or a master's degree with 2+ years in chemistry.
• Experience with small molecule pharmaceutical process development in a GMP environment.
• Experience with antibody drug conjugate pharmaceutical process development in a GMP environment.
