Scientist I, mRNA, Process Development

Role: Senior mRNA Scientist in process development, focusing on optimizing and scaling mRNA synthesis and purification processes. Responsibilities: lead experiments to improve yields and purity, characterize mRNA samples using analytical techniques, support tech transfer activities, develop SOPs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams including MSAT and analytical development. Also, contribute to business development by supporting external proposals and communication. Requirements: BS/MS in Microbiology, Bioengineering, or Biochemistry with 8+ years of relevant experience, including at least 4 years working specifically with mRNA therapeutics. Skills: hands-on experience in in-vitro transcription, plasmid DNA linearization, downstream processing (TFF, chromatography), and operating automated chromatography systems. High-value details: expertise in mRNA production scale-up from bench to GMP, familiarity with mRNA-LNP formulation, and understanding of GMP regulations, QbD, and regulatory documentation. Preferred: experience with statistical software such as JMP, and knowledge of GMP and regulatory filings. Work setup: not specified; salary range $105K-$145K.
