Role: Scientist I in Machine Learning supporting FMI’s Computational Discovery Research, focusing on developing and validating algorithms for biomedical datasets. Responsibilities: design and evaluate ML/deep learning models on large-scale image, genomic, transcriptomic, and clinical data; develop data pipelines and tools; contribute to data preparation, feature engineering, and model validation; collaborate cross-functionally with computational biology, pathology, and engineering teams; conduct cancer genomics research; prepare reports and scientific publications. Requirements: Bachelor's in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or related field with 3+ years’ experience, or Master’s with 2+ years, in relevant computational disciplines; proficiency in programming (Python, Java, C++); understanding of ML/statistical methods; strong communication skills. Preferred: Ph.D. in relevant fields; experience with deep learning frameworks (foundation models, vision transformers); knowledge of cancer biology/genomics; experience with distributed computing (Spark, Horovod); cloud platforms (AWS, GCP); histopathology analysis; MLOps familiarity; prior research publications.
