Role Summary
Location: Redmond, WA. Role: Scientist I, High Throughput Analytics, focusing on developing and executing H/UPLC and capillary-based separations in support of process development, cell line development, and release testing of biotherapeutics. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, qualify, and transfer analytical methods, and contribute to technology development to improve efficiency and capacity. You’ll be encouraged to ask questions, think creatively, and share findings to drive measurable results.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute H/UPLC and capillary based separations methods for support of process development, cell line development, and release testing of biotherapeutics.
- Dive deep into H/UPLC and capillary based analytical method development, method qualification, and large molecule characterization, always looking for ways to improve and innovate.
- Utilize chromatography data systems and informatics platforms to analyze and distribute analytical results.
- Work with a team to troubleshoot, develop, qualify, and document analytical methods.
- Support tech transfer of analytical methods to Quality Control.
- Work with team members on technology development to improve the efficiency, speed, and capacity of analytical testing and analytical methods.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to explore new possibilities and solutions.
- Bring fresh perspectives to the analytical team that challenge the status quo.
- Regularly share your findings, ideas, and solutions in both team settings and presentations.
- Keep up with the latest trends and developments in characterization and analysis of large molecules with H/UPLC and capillary based analytical methods and use your knowledge to inspire and lead.
- Ensure that curiosity-driven questions and exploration lead to measurable, impactful results.
Qualifications
- A curious problem-solver with a passion for learning and growing in a dynamic environment.
- BS in Biochemistry, Biology, Bioengineering or related field with 5+ years of experience or Ph.D. with minimal relevant experience.
- Experience with troubleshooting complex instrumentation (H/UPLC, Tecan, CE).
- Expertise in the development and qualification and/or validation of H/UPLC (SEC, RP, HILIC, IEX), CE (CE-SDS, icIEF) methods.
- Large molecule and protein characterization experience.
