Role Summary

Scientist I, Functional Biocharacterization & Impurities based in Redmond, WA. Reports to Senior Scientist I, Functional Biocharacterization & Impurities. Join a team focused on curiosity-driven research, collaboration, and innovation to drive early and late-phase product characterization.

Responsibilities

  • Dive deep into developing and optimizing potency immunoassays and bioassays for numerous MoAs, and always look for ways to improve and innovate their implementation for routine sample testing to support early and late-phase product characterization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to explore new possibilities and solutions across projects.
  • Bring fresh perspectives to technology development for data analysis and documentation to improve throughput, efficiency, and data integrity.
  • Regularly share your results, interpretations, and solutions in both functional group settings and in presentations at meetings for internal project teams or those with partners.
  • Keep up with the latest regulatory guidance for authoring documents such as user guides, reports, and SOPs, and use your knowledge to inspire and lead.
  • Ensure that curiosity-driven questions and exploration lead to measurable, impactful results.

Qualifications

  • PhD with 0+ years of experience, MS with 3+ years of experience, or BS with 5+ years of experience in Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Immunology, or related field.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative, owns projects, and actively seeks out new challenges.
  • Broad knowledge of potency assays and MoAs, excellent aseptic technique, and experience culturing mammalian cells in a BSL I/II environment.
  • Natural collaborator who loves sharing ideas and learning from others.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with meticulous and accurate pipetting using single/multi-channel pipettes and possibly liquid handlers.
  • Excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing, able to share complex ideas in a simple, relatable way.
  • Experience with Envisions (or similar) for data acquisition and SMP or JMP (or similar) for data analysis; familiarity with additional cell analysis technologies is a bonus.
  • Driven to continuously improve, adapt, and innovate.
  • Experience with alternative potency/binding assay formats such as SPR and BLI is a bonus.
