Role: Scientist I in Discovery Chemistry at Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals, focusing on peptide design, synthesis, purification, and characterization to support RNAi therapeutic development. Responsibilities: perform solid-phase peptide synthesis using automated and manual methods; purify and analyze peptides via HPLC, LC-MS; interpret data, troubleshoot, and optimize peptide workflows; contribute to peptide construct design; maintain lab records and equipment; present findings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field; 8+ years of industry experience or demonstrated leadership in peptide chemistry; strong organic and analytical chemistry skills; hands-on experience with SPPS, automated synthesizers, and peptide analysis techniques; excellent troubleshooting and communication skills. Preferred: experience in peptide discovery and optimization, high-throughput synthesis, biophysical assays, and RNA-based therapeutics.
