Scientist I, Non-Regulated Bioanalysis (QTAS) β€” AbbVie, North Chicago, IL

Key Responsibilities
- Support LC-MS/MS-based PK/PD, efficacy, and exploratory toxicology bioanalytical studies
- Conduct and optimize sample extraction using protein precipitation, liquid/liquid extraction, or solid-phase extraction
- Operate and troubleshoot robotic systems (Hamilton, Tecan) and LC-MS/MS platforms (Leap/CTC PAL autosamplers, Agilent HPLCs, Sciex 5500/6500 triple quadrupole mass spectrometers) and software (Discovery Quant, Analyst, Sciex OS, MassHunter)
- Troubleshoot pre-analytical and bioanalytical issues
- Maintain accurate documentation (LIMS records, electronic notebooks, test methods, protocols)
- Collaborate across Discovery and QTAS to support bioanalysis
- Train and mentor junior scientists as needed

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience, or Master’s degree with 2 years of experience, in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related field
- Hands-on bioanalysis experience (small molecules, peptides, large molecules) including sample prep and method development in pharma
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively in high-throughput settings
- Experience operating automated liquid handling robotic platforms (Hamilton or equivalent)
- Experience with CTC-PAL and Agilent LC instruments and LC-MS/MS platforms (AB Sciex triple quadrupole or equivalent)
- Experience with electronic laboratory notebook software and LIMS
- Strong instrument and assay troubleshooting skills
- Process development/optimization experience preferred
