Role: Enzyme Process Development Scientist within Illumina's Advanced Science group, focusing on protein purification and characterization to support enzyme production processes. Responsibilities include protein purification via chromatography and filtration, assessing protein stability and purity through assays, developing buffer systems, optimizing process performance, and documenting experimental results. Requirements: BS in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field; 1-2 years lab experience if an Associate’s degree; familiarity with protein/nucleic acid analysis techniques such as SDS-PAGE, UV/Vis spectroscopy; strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office. Preferred: experience in biopharma enzyme development, biological buffer formulation, and laboratory troubleshooting.
