Operations
The Molecular Profiling and Drug Delivery (MPDD) function within the Small Molecule CMC organization is accountable for deliverables across drug discovery and development stages. Responsibilities include:
- Using automation and computational tools supported by biopharmaceutics, drug delivery, and solid-state chemistry to progress candidates with higher probability of success and advise clinical formulation strategy.
- Working in cross-functional teams to identify commercial solid form of the API and establish structure-property-performance correlations; align control strategies across drug substance and product.
- Transitioning drug substance isolation processes and physical characterization methods to commercial manufacturing sites; support regulatory submissions.
- Conducting developability assessment to select molecules for clinical development and commercialization by profiling physicochemical properties, developing preclinical formulations, addressing in vivo absorption challenges, and advancing novel drug delivery strategies for multiple administration routes (including small molecules, PROTACs, and peptides).

Associate Scientist I primary role:
- Emphasize analytical chemistry, HPLC–MS, laboratory automation, and automated/data-enabled workflows to accelerate decisions and improve throughput in early development.
- Profile physicochemical properties; screen and develop preclinical formulations; advance platform workflows for emerging modalities; collaborate to build integrated capabilities with discovery and development partners.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (typically 5 years) or Master’s degree (typically 2 years) in pharmaceutical/related industry (preferred: Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Chemical/Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry/Materials Science).
- Hands-on experience with HPLC–MS (high-resolution preferred), assay development, automation, and workflow optimization.
- Familiarity with physicochemical property profiling and early developability assessment (solubility, stability, etc.).
- Experience/desirable: preclinical formulation strategies, assay miniaturization, automated data capture, instrumentation integration, biophysical/in vitro techniques, collaboration with data/computational/informatics partners.
