Scientist I, Analytical Development

Role: Analytical Development Scientist supporting biologics/vaccine development at a clinical-stage biopharma focused on bacterial infections, based in San Carlos, CA. Responsibilities: execute analytical testing, contribute to method development, optimization, validation, and troubleshooting of assays (e.g., HPLC, ELISA, electrophoresis, PCR); author and revise technical documentation; partner with cross-functional teams to ensure assay transfer, quality, and compliance; manage laboratory operations and instrument maintenance; support safety and regulatory readiness. Requirements: PhD, MS, or Bachelor's in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or related field; 0-2 years (PhD), 5+ years (MS), or 8+ years (BS) relevant industry experience; hands-on expertise with analytical techniques (liquid chromatography, MS, electrophoresis, plate-based assays); strong troubleshooting, data analysis, and technical writing skills; ability to work independently and in a team environment. Preferred: experience in biologics vaccine development, assay validation, and working in GMP/GLP settings. High-value: biologics/vaccine focus, assay development and troubleshooting, analytical chemistry expertise, regulatory compliance, on-site role. Reporting to Senior Scientist, Analytical Development.
