Role: Scientist in the High-Throughput Production (HTP) team at AstraZeneca's biologics discovery center, focusing on routine production, purification, and quality control of therapeutic antibodies and antibody-like molecules to support R&D pipeline programs. Responsibilities: execute automated, end-to-end transient expression and purification workflows using robotics platforms (Hamilton, Lynx, Cellario), prepare media and reagents, perform aseptic cell culture, conduct routine QC testing (e.g., purity, identity), track samples in LIMS, and maintain equipment readiness. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to meet throughput and quality targets, document thoroughly, and identify workflow improvements. Qualifications: Masterโs degree in biochemistry, biotechnology, or related field with 1+ years of high-throughput protein/antibody experience, or Bachelorโs degree with 5+ years of relevant experience. Skills include hands-on operation of liquid handlers, fundamental knowledge of protein expression/purification, sample tracking, SOP adherence, and strong organizational and communication skills. Preferred skills include familiarity with analytical methods (SEC-UPLC, LC-MS), lab automation software (Cellario), and basic scripting (Python). The role emphasizes operational reliability, attention to detail, and teamwork within a fast-paced, automated biologics discovery setting. High-value specifics: biologics, antibodies, immunology, oncology and respiratory therapeutic areas, automated workflows, GxP compliance, and integrating AI/ML tools. Location: Cambridge, MA, with a focus on automated, near-lights-out production in a cutting-edge lab environment.
