Job Title: Scientist, Discovery Pharmacology (Research)

Responsibilities:
- Develop, optimize, and validate in vitro assay cascades to support candidate screening and progression.
- Culture, maintain, and characterize relevant cell types (primary cells and mammalian cell lines including neutrophils, hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells, mouse bone marrow progenitors, PLB-985, and others).
- Conduct in vitro cell-based/functional assays to assess compound activity, efficacy, selectivity, and off-target potential; provide data-driven recommendations.
- Perform and optimize neutrophil functional assays, including NET formation assays and flow cytometry-based assays.
- Perform fluorescence/confocal microscopy and quantitative image analysis; support high-throughput, AI-driven imaging workflows.
- Design and execute mechanism-of-action studies using gene expression profiling and protein-based analytical platforms.
- Support downstream in vivo analyses (sample collection, processing, and ex vivo characterization using flow cytometry, ELISA, Western blotting, imaging assays).
- Maintain electronic lab records; prepare technical reports and presentations.
- Perform data QC, statistical analyses, and visualization (Excel, XLfit, GraphPad Prism, FlowJo).
- Review scientific literature to support experimental design, target validation, and biomarker strategies.
- Operate/calibrate/troubleshoot/maintain lab equipment.
- Present findings at internal and external forums.

Qualifications/Required skills:
- PhD with 2 years’ experience OR MS with 7 years in immunology, molecular/cellular biology, or related field.
- Strong expertise in innate immunity/neutrophil biology.
- Hands-on primary/mammalian cell culture and molecular/cellular biology techniques; demonstrated in vitro assay development/optimization/execution.
- Hands-on imaging expertise (fluorescence, confocal, high-content); NET formation assay experience in primary cells is a plus.
- Strong verbal/written communication, problem-solving, organization, time management, and attention to detail.
- Enthusiasm, autonomy, self-motivation; collaborative teamwork.

Nice to have:
- Familiarity with respiratory, immune-mediated, and autoimmune diseases.
- Recognition for writing and presentation skills.
