Role: Discovery Pharmacology Scientist supporting drug discovery for serious diseases within Insmed's Research team. Responsibilities include developing, optimizing, and validating in vitro assays (cell-based, functional, imaging, mechanism-of-action studies) to support candidate screening, target validation, and biomarker identification. The role involves working with primary and mammalian cell cultures, performing neutrophil functional assays, fluorescence microscopy, and data analysis to inform drug candidate progression. Collaborates cross-functionally with data analysis, computational scientists, and in vivo teams; maintains detailed lab records and presents findings. Requirements: PhD with 2+ years or MS with 7+ years in immunology, molecular/cellular biology, or related fields; expertise in innate immunity, neutrophil biology, cell culture, molecular biology techniques, imaging, and assay development; strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. Preferred: experience in respiratory, immune-mediated, or autoimmune disease areas, and external recognition of scientific communication skills. Location: Bridgewater, NJ, full-time in-person role with minimal travel. The role emphasizes hands-on laboratory work, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and data-driven decision-making in early drug discovery processes targeting serious, rare diseases.
