Role Summary

Scientist - CV Renal, Histology and In vivo. A dynamic, collaborative scientist contributing to preclinical research at the intersection of in vivo, histology, and in vitro studies. Designs and executes preclinical studies, develops histological techniques, and supports in vitro assay development within a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

  • In Vivo Research: Design, manage, and execute studies utilizing mouse models; administer compounds via intraperitoneal, subcutaneous, and intravenous dosing; collect, process, and document biological samples for downstream histological and molecular analyses.
  • Histology Research & Development: Develop, refine, and validate histological endpoints; perform IHC, ICC, RNAscope, and related techniques; prepare tissues for high-quality histological analysis; collaborate on data analysis and reporting; drive workflow and protocol improvements.
  • In Vitro Assay Support (Preferred): Culture mammalian cells and assist in development of cell-based assays; apply immunocytochemistry and immunoblotting to support mechanistic studies and integrate findings into broader research initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Required: B.S. or M.S. with 6+ years of experience in histology and in vivo techniques.
  • Preferred: Experience in kidney-specific histology and a strong track record in preclinical research.

Skills

  • Histological techniques (IHC, ICC, RNAscope) and tissue processing
  • In vivo study design and animal handling (mouse models)
  • Data analysis using imaging and quantitative analysis software
  • Cross-functional collaboration and effective communication of findings
  • Cell culture and basic in vitro assay development (preferred)

Education

  • B.S. or M.S. in a relevant scientific field
