Role: Hands-on Scientist in CMC Quantitative Sciences at Moderna, focusing on applying advanced statistical, data science, machine learning, and modeling methods to support product development, manufacturing, analytical, and quality decisions. Responsibilities: independently lead complex analyses, develop reproducible models, and translate scientific questions into data-driven solutions; collaborate cross-functionally with scientists, engineers, manufacturing, and regulatory teams; contribute to technical reports and regulatory submissions; develop and maintain digital tools, dashboards, and pipelines; evaluate data quality; communicate findings clearly; mentor colleagues; stay current with quantitative methods and digital technologies. Requirements: PhD (0-2 yrs), MS (5-8 yrs), or BS (8-10 yrs) in Statistics, Data Science, Applied Math, or related STEM; proficiency in programming languages (R, Python, SQL); experience with statistical software; demonstrated ability to handle complex analyses independently; understanding of GxP and regulatory guidance (ICH, FDA). Preferred: breadth across multiple CMC QS capabilities, experience with machine learning or predictive modeling in pharma/biotech, regulatory document contributions, and familiarity with manufacturing or analytical data systems.
