Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate, timely digital records of research protocols, procedures, study data, inventories, and reports.
- Collaborate with principal investigators, scientific staff, veterinarians, veterinary technicians, IACUC members, facility managers, and animal care technicians; support in vivo discovery R&D projects.
- Conduct research and medical treatment regimens for research animals under veterinarian guidance.
- Administer injectable and inhalation anesthetic agents under veterinarian guidance.
- Recognize operational/technical/scientific study hurdles under supervision and propose solutions.
- Manage study timelines and objectives; ensure data accuracy in corporate databases and project tracking tools.
- Communicate study results and data interpretation to cross-functional teams.
- Comply with applicable animal welfare and regulatory requirements (e.g., Animal Welfare Act, The Guide, 3R principles, FDA).
- Promote an inclusive laboratory environment and work effectively in a team setting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree in a relevant field completed by June 2027.
- Some animal handling and dosing experience.
- Some technical/scientific skills and willingness to understand the R&D process.
- Ocular research techniques and imaging equipment experience preferred (not required).
- Ability to independently identify challenges and contribute to solutions.
- Proactive, innovative, solution-oriented mindset; excellent organization/interpersonal/communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusion; initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Commitment to safety and regulatory standards; readiness to work rotational weekends.
