Position Summary
- Scientist (Cell Therapy TRC): Highly motivated immunologist with strong background in T cell immunology to drive optimization of next-generation T cell therapeutics.
Position Responsibilities
- Apply extensive knowledge of T cell biology (activation pathways, signaling pathways, antigen-specific differentiation) to characterize T cells in vitro and enable science-driven decision making.
- Plan and implement critical, hypothesis-driven studies.
- Interpret and synthesize information from complex datasets (published and internal).
- Identify new methods and research tools to continuously develop in vitro drug candidate screening workflows.
- Provide scientific and technical insights on cross-functional assignments.
- Provide recommendations on department-level strategic decisions.
- Represent the company in external settings; collaborate with internal and external partners.
- Act as a functional advisor to team members, especially more junior colleagues.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelorโs degree with 5+ years of academic and/or industry experience.
- OR Masterโs degree with 3+ years of academic and/or industry experience.
- OR Ph.D. (or equivalent advanced degree in the Life Sciences) with no experience necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive in vitro experience engineering T cells; functionality assessment including viral transduction, targeted gene editing, IncuCyte-based readouts, and PCR.
- Expertise in multi-parameter flow cytometry (12+ colors) and immune cell functional assays (e.g., proliferation, cytokine production, cytotoxicity, imaging).
- Highly desired: experience analyzing next generation sequencing/large gene expression datasets using a programming language.
- Critical/probabilistic thinking to identify and solve complex scientific problems.
- Self-motivated with project management-oriented thinking; ability to work multiple projects in a matrix environment.
- Ability to work as both team member and individual contributor.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills in cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational skills for thorough/timely documentation and report preparation.
