Role: Cardiac and Vascular Rodent Surgeon supporting cardiovascular research, focusing on designing and executing longitudinal in-vivo rodent studies to advance therapeutic development. Responsibilities: perform advanced surgical models (TAC, MI, RKM) in mice and rats, manage drug dosing, implant telemetry devices for blood pressure and ECG monitoring, conduct invasive hemodynamic assessments (PV-loop), perform tissue collection and processing, oversee study logistics, analyze complex physiological data, generate reports and figures, maintain regulatory and animal welfare documentation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Requirements: BS with 10+ years or MS with 6+ years in Physiology, Biomedical Sciences, Veterinary Science, or related field; expertise in rodent cardiac and vascular surgeries; proficiency in dosing, telemetry, hemodynamic analysis, Langendorff perfusion; experience with data analysis software like PRISM and PONEMAH; deep understanding of rodent physiology and surgical best practices; strong organizational, communication, and attention to detail skills. Preferred: experience with additional cardiovascular assessment techniques or GLP-regulated research. High-Value: cardiovascular disease models in small rodents, longitudinal in-vivo studies, complex data analysis, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Work setup: onsite in Tarrytown, NY.
