About This Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join the Fluid Biomarkers group, within Biogen’s Research organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in immunology, cellular and molecular biology and/or related scientific fields. He or she will contribute to the discovery and development of fluid biomarkers and their implementation across all stages of drug development for Immunology and Neuromuscular programs. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment to develop transformative therapies for patients.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and implement biomarker assays and strategies to support preclinical studies and clinical trials for small molecules, biologics, and antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) therapies.
- Design and execute novel fluid biomarker assays using state-of-the-art technologies, including ultrasensitive immunoassays, and/or other advanced platforms.
- Evaluate platforms for biomarker analysis; provide deep technical expertise across technologies specifically flow cytometry
- Apply core laboratory techniques in molecular biology, cell biology, neuroscience, or related disciplines.
- Independently plan and conduct experiments; contribute to project strategy and design to advance departmental objectives.
- Lead discussions and deliver scientific presentations in cross-functional meetings, clearly communicating complex data and defending conclusions.
- May oversee and manage relationships with external CROs, including study design, execution, and data review.

- This position is based in Cambridge, MA and requires regular onsite presence. Candidates must be within commuting distance or willing to relocate.
Required Skills
- PhD (preferred), MS, or BS in Immunology, Cellular and Molecular Biology, or a related scientific field.
- PhD with 0–2+ years of relevant industry experience
- MS with 4+ years
- BS with 6+ years
- Strong background in immune cell biology (innate and adaptive immunity), cellular signaling, and assay development
- Hands-on expertise with techniques including:
- Flow cytometry
- Biochemical and cellular assay development
- ELISA/MSD
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Skills
- Industry experience in biotech/pharma, ideally in drug discovery or translational research.
- Advanced technical expertise in flow cytometry.

Additional Information
The base compensation range for this role is: $103,000.00-$134,000.00
Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
Regular employees are eligible to receive both short term and long-term incentives, including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities, designed to reward recent achievements and recognize your future potential based on individual, business unit and company performance.
