Scientist, Biologics Research (Biologics Research team)

Responsibilities:
- Lead biomolecular engineering and optimization campaigns for biotherapeutic scaffolds (enzymes, catalysts, binding/targeting moieties, signaling molecules, and biological-origin drug delivery platforms)
- Support discovery/development of next-generation biotherapies for serious unmet needs
- Drive strategy and methods development across biomolecular engineering, immunology, and pharmacology
- Construct recombinant systems encoding protein variants and combinatorial protein libraries
- Conceptualize, build, validate, and deploy high-throughput screening platforms for candidate selection
- Devise, optimize, and use tailored protein expression and purification strategies
- Develop, validate, and deploy functional, immunological, and pharmacological assays (in vitro and in vivo)
- Maintain accurate experimental/methods/data records in an electronic notebook and perform data review
- Mentor/train across disciplines; present results to internal and external scientific communities

Qualifications & preferred skills:
- PhD in molecular/cellular biology, bioengineering, biochemistry, immunology, microbiology, or related field
- Hands-on experience with molecular/cellular biology, mammalian tissue culture, recombinant DNA, protein mutagenesis, and protein biochemistry
- Experience with recombinant protein expression/purification and routine characterization (spectroscopy, SDS-PAGE, western blot, ELISA)
- Experience with enzyme analysis and/or protein-protein binding analysis
- Experience developing high-throughput functional screens (AAV vectors, gene editing, and rodent in vivo preferred but not required)
- Excellent communication/problem-solving; highly organized and detail-oriented; proven methods development track record

Work & travel:
- Lebanon, NH Research Development Lab; full-time, in-person; minimal travel

Pay range:
- $103,000.00–131,000.00 annual
