Role Summary
As a Bioanalytical Scientist within Research and Breakthrough Innovation, you will support Elancoβs Large Molecule Assay Development team through the development, validation, and execution of ligand-binding assays (LBAs). This laboratory-based role focuses on generating high-quality bioanalytical data to support preclinical and clinical programs involving monoclonal antibodies and other protein therapeutics. You will work in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment and play a key role in advancing innovative animal health solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, optimize, and validate ligand-binding assays (ELISA, MSD, Gyros) for quantification of monoclonal antibodies and other protein therapeutics in biological matrices
- Execute fit-for-purpose bioanalytical methods in accordance with internal SOPs and global regulatory guidelines, evaluating accuracy, precision, selectivity, sensitivity, and stability
- Analyze preclinical and clinical study samples and deliver high-quality, reliable data to project teams
- Characterize, conjugate, and manage critical assay reagents to ensure long-term consistency and performance
- Independently troubleshoot assay challenges and evaluate new technologies to improve sensitivity, throughput, and robustness
Qualifications
- Required: Ph.D. in Immunology, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related discipline, or MS with 3+ years of relevant industry experience, or BS with 5+ years of relevant industry experience
- Required: Demonstrated hands-on experience developing, validating, and executing ligand-binding assays
- Required: Strong understanding of pharmacokinetics principles for biologic therapeutics
- Required: Proficiency with immunoassay platforms, with ELISA experience
- Preferred: Experience with advanced immunoassay platforms such as MSD, Gyros, or Quanterix
- Preferred: Experience developing and validating immunogenicity (ADA) assays
- Preferred: Familiarity with cell-based neutralizing antibody (NAb) assays
- Preferred: Strong data analysis skills and experience with bioanalytical software tools (e.g., SoftMax Pro, Benchling)
