Role Summary

Scientist in Viatris’ world-class Research and Development Center, focusing on developing and validating analytical methods for therapeutic proteins, peptides, and oligonucleotides, and performing analytical testing using biophysical techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate analytical methods for therapeutic proteins, peptides, and oligonucleotides drug substances and drug products.
  • Perform analytical testing using various biophysical analytical techniques. Experience in Light scattering, Liquid Chromatography, Gel / Capillary Electrophoresis and Mass spectrometry is preferable.
  • Apply sound scientific principles to perform laboratory research.

Qualifications

  • Required: A degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related discipline. A Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience, or a Master’s with 5+ years, or a Doctorate with 0-3 years is preferred; combination of experience and education considered.
  • Must possess knowledge of basic laboratory analytical techniques and instrumentation used in characterization of complex pharmaceutical products (e.g., HPLC, mass spectrometry, bioassays, cell culture, structural characterization techniques, electrophoresis).
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and drive multiple projects.
  • Ability to write comprehensive technical reports and communicate complex concepts across functions.
  • Proficiency in English (speaking, comprehension, reading, and writing).
  • Preferred: General understanding of current regulatory policies applicable to pharmaceutical industry practice and FDA regulations and guidances.
