Key Responsibilities:
- Perform chemical reactions to assemble antibody-oligonucleotide conjugates using various conjugation handles, linkers, and antibody formats (IgG, Fab, scFv, bispecific)
- Use strategies for stochastic and site-specific conjugation
- Optimize reactions and purification for yields and efficiency from mg to gram scale
- Independently troubleshoot conjugation reactions
- Analyze conjugates using IEX, HIC, SEC, SDS-PAGE, mass spec, and UV-Vis
- Drive automation for high-throughput conjugation
- Partner with biology teams to plan studies and deliver materials on time
- Maintain proper electronic notebook records
- Communicate experimental plans and data to cross-functional teams
- Collaborate with biologists, chemists, and pharmacologists across therapeutic modalities
Qualifications:
- PhD with 0β3 years of relevant experience
- Strong understanding of antibody conjugation chemistries (stochastic and site-specific)
- Strong understanding of modern ADC chemistry and linker design (highly preferred)
- Hands-on experience preparing antibody-drug/conjugates and analyzing via IEX, HIC, SEC, and mass spec
- 0β2 years pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience (preferred)
- Experience with Agilent and AKTA software
- Experience with recombinant protein analysis (affinity, size exclusion, reverse phase, HIC, ion exchange, SDS-PAGE, UV-VIS)
- SPR and/or Octet binding experiments (nice to have)
- Detail oriented; self-motivated; ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results; adaptable in fast-paced environments
- Ability to train/supervise associate scientists
- Effective written/oral communication; ELN record keeping; PowerPoint experience
- Team oriented with strong work ethic
