Clinical Research and Development
Overview/Role
- Scientist to join Protein Sciences group to support antibody conjugation efforts (onsite; primarily Cambridge, MA).
Key Responsibilities
- Perform chemical reactions to assemble antibody-oligonucleotide conjugates using various conjugation handles, linkers, and antibody formats (IgG, Fab, scFv, bispecific).
- Use stochastic and site-specific conjugation strategies.
- Optimize reactions and purification to improve yields and efficiency (mg to gram scale).
- Independently troubleshoot conjugation reactions.
- Analyze conjugates using IEX, HIC, SEC, SDS-PAGE, mass spec, and UV-Vis.
- Drive automation for high-throughput conjugation at multiple scales.
- Coordinate with biology teams to plan studies and generate materials on time for multiple projects.
- Maintain accurate electronic notebook records.
- Communicate experimental plans and results to cross-functional teams.
- Partner with biologists, chemists, and pharmacologists to support strategic research directions across therapeutic modalities.
Qualifications
- PhD with 0β3 years relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of antibody conjugation chemistries (stochastic and site-specific).
- Strong knowledge of modern ADC chemistry/linker design (preferred).
- Hands-on preparation and analysis of antibody-drug conjugates (IEX, HIC, SEC, mass spec).
- Preferred: 0β2 years industry experience.
- Experience with Agilent and AKTA software.
- Experience with recombinant protein analysis (affinity, SEC, reverse phase, HIC, ion exchange, SDS-PAGE, UV-VIS).
- Nice to have: SPR and/or Octet binding experiments.
- ELN experience; PowerPoint preparation/presentation experience.
- Ability to train/supervise associate scientists.
- Strong written/oral communication; detail oriented; self-motivated; adaptable; can manage multiple projects.
U.S. Pay Range (base): $110,400.00β$165,600.00. Eligible for annual short-term incentive and annual long-term incentive (e.g., bonus/equity).
